The Mule
Assassin makes his dressage debut at Le Bon Temps Dressage in Folsom, LA. Serenity Farm was the stage for our mule to wow his rather massive fan club! Vicky has had the privilege of riding and training MANY fancy warmbloods in her career. This mule however, takes the cake in terms of sheer fun!
So WHY do you ask, does a mule get his own page on a Warmblood website? Because he is PRECIOUS!!! And he is the complete obsession of Vicky Busch. His story - in October of 2015, Vicky was reading an article about the "Bishop California Mule Days" - basically a yearly Super Bowl for mules. She has always admired and been interested in mules but has never owned one. In that article was a listing of mules for sale. "Slate" from North Carolina was offered there for sale. Vicky loved his pictures and video. As a 4 year old, she felt that with 3 correct gaits, she would be able to train him for dressage - and whatever else!! She felt like she had done a lot more with a lot less talent. So it was one of those "Why the hell not?" moments. Sight unseen she bought him and has adored him from the first moment he stepped off the trailer. He is pure joy for Vicky, a farm favorite and quite the attraction wherever he goes. Traveling with Assassin is a bit like traveling with a Rock Star. His most important mission in life though is his Volunteer Ambassadorship status with Brooke USA. For Brooke, our mule's charm and natural charisma are used to bring awareness to the plight of the millions of working equids in the world. We feel this is the REAL reason we found him.

A mule and mirrors. That's what we got in November, 2015. Here our beloved mule, Assassin aka, Slate, admires himself, all decked out in his cowboy outfit. He's an awesome trail mule so we have to have the appropriate get up.
